I think New Years day is the best, because that day is only day to gather all my family. People talk and laugh a lot. We can see fireworks, because many fireworks sett off that day. New years day is very busy because we have to go shrine and visit a grave in the morning. After that we eat Osechi and Ozoni in my home. These are traditional Japanese new years foods. Especially, I like Ozoni. It is a bowl of soup made with vegetables and sticky rice cake. The toppings vary from region to region in Japan. I like to spend time with my family on that day.

  1. It seems like there are a lot of special foods associated with New Year's in Japan. We don't really have anything special here...maybe a drink (champagne at midnight).

    Corrections:
We can see fireworks because many fireworks are set off that day.

    I especially like Ozoni.

  2. I'm wondering about Ozoni because I also eat rice cake soup like Ozoni on New Year in Korea. So I'd like to try that soup! :)
